About

I'm a Registered Dietitian living in Columbus, Indiana. I try to live a healthy lifestyle and that means I love broccoli and pizza. I wanted a place share how I navigate "healthy" while instill enjoying all that Columbus has to offer.

I was not born in Columbus, but I moved to Columbus when I was in 2nd grade (Go Southside). Even though I lived in North district, I decided to go to East High School. When it was time to go to college, I really had only one choice.

I am a third generation Purdue University graduate. I majored in Dietetics/Fitness, Nutrition, and Health (a mouthful, right?). I picked this major because it brought together nutrition and fitness. I used this information to help myself and my teammates on the Purdue University Triathlon team. To become a RD, you must complete an internship.

My internship took me to Shreveport, Louisiana. I lived down south for a year. It was a different experience from my Midwest up bringing. I completed my internship and then went on to complete my Master's through Louisiana Tech University.

My passion is weight management. All of my jobs have had some element of weight management. I am currently a Bariatric dietitian at the Columbus Weight Loss Institute. I am also involved in the profession as a member of multiple executive boards for Dietetics.

My now husband started a home remodel in 2016 (that is the ultimate pre-martial counseling). Then in 2017, Tonks our 125 pound Newfoundland came into our lives. My husband, Jacob, and I made it official in October 2018 with a Purdue themed wedding. Bo, our almost 18 month old son, joined us in 2020 during a pandemic.

Hope you enjoy my take on health, nutrition and how to incorporate it into a lifestyle. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
